WHAT IS  ANTI-MATERIAL RIFLE?

An anti-materiel rifle (AMR) is a rifle designed for use against military equipment, structures, and other hardware (material) like bunkers, lightly armored vehicles, radar systems, communication equipment, parked aircraft, fuel storage facilities, etc. It is also effective in long-range sniping, counter-sniping, and ordnance disposal roles.

Anti-materiel rifles are chambered in significantly larger calibers than conventional rifles.

The Barrett M95 is a US-origin anti-material, bolt-action rifle chambered in .50 BMG (12.7×99mm) and manufactured by Barrett Firearms Company. The M95 is an improved version of the earlier Barrett M90.

The major difference between the M95 and the M90 is that the pistol grip and trigger have been moved forward 1 inch (25 mm) for better magazine clearance. Also, the bolt handle has been redesigned and bent down, and there are also some minor changes to the trigger and firing pin.

The BARRET M95 is used by the troops of the Northern Command of the Indian Army along with the Line Of  Control with Pakistan.
